About Experience Leather

My name is Cordell Cull and for the past 28 years all I have ever done is build saddles and tack. Ever since Bud Scheerschmidt hired me at Clover Bar Saddlery in 1981, I've always believed that it is expremely important to listen to other saddle makers, the western retailer and what their customers are looking for.
So, after building some 3000 saddles, I would like to welcome you to my website. This site is a lot like other sites with one notable difference- I want to take you inside our saddles and show you what we put into them. Not just what material we use, but to show you that our company name is not just a name. I have 28 years of leather work experience and I put every year into our saddles.

After building for a variety of others it was time to do it on my own.
In 1997 my wife, Anne, and I started Experience Leather. After 13 years of supplying saddles to retailers we felt it was time to start selling directly to the end consumer. So now anyone wanting to purchase an Experience Leather saddle or tack can buy directly from our shop. We very much look forward to meeting all of your saddle and tack needs. For all your inquires big or small, give us a call or email me and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. We work hard, are very busy, and we will continue to do this by taking no short cuts. We will not compromise quality for anything or anyone. We will make sure our fit and finish is second to none, that our edge coating is true, and that there will be no dropped stitches.

Saddle

We put nothing but the highest quality material into our saddles and tack. We use #1 grade Wickett & Craig leather, Bowden saddle trees, Bork rigging hardware, Montana silver, the highest grade stainless steel, the finest garments and the highest quality bark tanned shearlings we've found.
We make sure all of our screws are pilot holed first. We use Fiebings saddle oil and a hand applied finish. To give your saddle the best head start we can give it. All we have ever wanted to do is build a product that looks good, feels good and is built to last. You have our name on it, and you have my word.

We don't sell boots, jeans or hats. We build saddles and we've built a lot of them over the years. We've gotten pretty good at putting a custom saddle on a production line, as you look through our site, you will notice that what you don't see is every bit as important as what you do see on a finished saddle. We spend an enormous amount of time on our groundwork and our riggings. These parts of a saddle are hard to see but you do feel the quality through the horses movements and through a sense of security and comfort over a long ride. The tree, the rigging and the ground seat may be hidden but they determine the quality of the saddle.
